Coping Creatively

  • 137 State Street Schenectady, NY, 12305 United States (map)

This group is for adults interested in using art and creativity as coping tools for dealing with depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues.

The goals of the group are:

Play. A necessity for health and happiness.

Process. Get lost in the act of art-making, find yourself as you engage with your creativity.

Practice. Art techniques for coping with difficult emotions and life challenges.

This is a good way to get unstuck, have some fun, and connect with like-minded people in a safe and non-judgmental space.  You do not have to have any artistic skills to participate, all are welcome. The format of the group is very relaxed, and the facilitator provides a different theme or project each session. The group is a closed group, meaning that the group is limited to registered members who are able to attend on a regular basis.

Cost is $15 dollars per person/session. Art materials provided.

Registration requires a prior phone or in-person contact with facilitator.
